Managed Services - Managed VPN

Is your network as secure as it can be?

Primus’ Managed VPN (Virtual Private Network) service provides you with secure communications for two types of common network scenarios:

  1. For employees accessing your network from remote locations who need to access resources stored behind your corporate firewall ("Remote Access VPN")
  2. To secure all traffic sent back and forth between two or more office networks each of which are protected with firewalls ("Site to Site VPN")

The service utilizes strong encryption and stringent authentication mechanisms to ensure the security of your data.

Primus’ service includes ongoing monitoring, management, and maintenance of the VPN connections.

Remote Access VPN

  1. Allows you to provide one or more employees with VPN client software so they can access resources located behind your corporate firewall from their remote location
  2. The VPN client software will create a "secure tunnel" from the remote machine to the VPN gateway (firewall)
  3. You will have the ability to add/modify/delete VPN user accounts using Primus’ secure customer portal (myaccount.primus.ca)
  4. Each user will have a unique password – users can change their passwords using the portal as required
  5. Primus will provide technical support to a designated single point of contact for the VPN client software used by your end-users.

Site to Site VPN

  1. Connect two or more corporate offices (each protected by a firewall) with a "secure tunnel"
  2. All data transmitted to and from each office will be encrypted using TripleDES encryption
  3. Primus will configure and monitor the tunnel(s) to ensure their proper operation
