Server Colocation - Colocation High Availability
Does your collocated server require 100% uptime?
If you answered yes, then Primus’ colocation High Availability option provides automatic failover capabilities to your mission critical applications.
Colocation High Availability works by providing you 2 paths from your colocation network segment into the core of Primus’ fully redundant network. By default, a colocation client will only have a single path via one switch into the core network. Should your switch/firewall or Primus’ switch ever be unavailable, your application would also be unavailable. With the colocation High Availability option, the core switches monitor the path availability and would automatically activate the backup link providing almost instantaneous failover.
In order for you to be fully protected, you should not rely on a single point of failure inside your colocation network segment either. If you only have a single switch connecting your network to the Primus network, failures could still occur. Primus can assist you with the design of a highly redundant colocation network.
