History — London Data Centre

Primus' London, Ontario Data Centre opened in 2008 and is located in a secure, unmarked facility. London's facility is a "class A" data centre with multiple connections to telco fibre rings, advanced security system, a 24 hour Network Operation Centre, fire suppression system, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) and a high capacity generator.

  • Anti-static 30" raised floors, leveled by laser for accuracy
  • Single secure entrance for customers and staff
  • Server room is divided into three areas:
    • An area dedicated for Primus equipment
    • An area for customers' servers
    • An area with dedicated cages for larger customers

    • Biometric security system enforced, card access control, individually locked cabinets
    • Guarded 24/7 by trained security guard
    • Security camera (low-light technology) scans and records the interior and exterior of the facility 24 hours a day

  • Power Back Up

    • Caterpillar 500 Kilowatt diesel generator with a twin turbo diesel motor that holds 3600 liters of fuel
    • Only 5 second to reach maximum generating capacity
    • System designed with redundant NuWave Modular UPS, ensures continuous operation during power failure.
    • N+1 power redundancy, available 99.9%

  • Fire Suppression

    • FM -200 gas which extinguishes fire without water.
    • Backup sprinkler system is installed and operates as a pre-action system. Water is released at temperature and by the smoke detection system.

  • Redundant Cooling System

    • 40 tonne of redundant cooling system by Liebert
    • Redundant compressors and AC units that are computer controlled
    • N+2 cooling system
    • Perforated cabinet doors for temperature control

  • Internet Connection

    • Fully redundant high speed, high availability internet connection, networking with multiple Telco fibre access

  • Monitoring and Support

    • 24 hours Network Operation Centre, staffed with qualified and certified team.
    • 24/7 onsite support staff

  • Colocation Space

    • 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, Full and custom cages
